Community Service (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) is a voluntary project focused on the education field. This is one of the HIMARIS essential projects that was first announced in 2012. This project was driven by the lacking of English lessons for children in some rural areas of Bandung and its surroundings.

Before conducting the project, HIMARIS took several steps to make this project successful. First, HIMARIS surveys several villages to ensure that the village and its surrounding area needed help. Second, HIMARIS completes the administration process, such as making a permission letter for Politeknik Negeri Bandung Management, the head of the village,and the parents of the English Department students.

HIMARIS annually sends 20-35 students to a particular village. There are usually only 10-25 children in one village. Indragiri Village and Mekarjaya Village are examples of the partners of HIMARIS in conducting the Community Service activities.

Besides providing English lessons for children, HIMARIS also helps the community in other activities, such as donating books and repairing school libraries. Continuing the success, HIMARIS will still run the PKM project as one of its main annual agendas.
