The Full Story
The English Students Association (HIMARIS) was established on 20 April 2006 and was officially inaugurated on 11 September 2007 in Bandung, Indonesia. It is a formal and legal forum for English Department students of Politeknik Negeri Bandung to develop their skills in both academic and non-academic fields.

HIMARIS is a student association that stands independently based on kinship and Pancasila. According to the decree of Politeknik Negeri Bandung Management in 2001, every president of a student organization is in charge of planning, managing, evaluating, and reporting every activity of the organization. The student associations are intended to improve students' intellectual, emotional, spiritual, or kinesthetic intelligence through supportive, effective, and dynamic activities. Therefore HIMARIS, as one of the student associations, will always follow and participate in every point listed in the decree. The first, as well as the longest-length-of-service chief of HIMARIS, was Ahmad Chadarullah. He worked for two years from 2006 to 2008.

HIMARIS was firstly recognized by Keluarga Mahasiswa (Kema) Politeknik Negeri Bandung on April, 20, 2007. In that year also, HIMARIS announced its logo and meaning to other student associations at Politeknik Negeri Bandung. The following are the meanings of the logo of HIMARIS:
